The First Christian Church Faith Partner congregations participated in a Blessing of the Pets by Rev. Carol Cook on Saturday, October 15th, 2011. After reading a litany evoking the spirit of Francis of Assisi, patron saint of the natural world, pets were brought forward for individual blessing. Praise God for our pets, which are a blessing in our lives. |
Rev. Carol Cook led us in a litany for the Blessing of the Pets, while our dogs and cats waited patiently for their turn. They were well behaved, as if they knew this special gathering was in their honor. |
Our pets are a blessing of life. We thank God for the gift of their companionship. Their love is unconditional. God seemed to smile on our gathering, as we basked in glorious day. Praise be to God! |
