The public is invited to our Bible Exploring special study series on the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus Christ, based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew Chapters 5-7 on Thursdays at 7:00-8:00PM during April 11-May 25, 2013, in the Conference Room at First Christian Church Baltimore. This study is led by First Christian's Rev. Carol Cook.
Vedanta is a Hindu community in California that pursues traditional Hindu philosophy according to ancient texts known at the Upanishads. A teacher from this tradition, Swami Prabhavananda, has authored The Sermon on the Mount According to Vedanta. Our study will use this book to explore the universality Jesus Christ's lessons about faith in God and love for our fellow humans, which are taught in many spiritual traditions, including Hinduism.
