The Education Team of First Christian Church Baltimore partnered with Gilchrist Hospice Care to offer a FREE educational program as a public on an important issue of spiritual health -- Caring for Caregivers -- on Saturday, January 21st, 2012, at 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Church Sanctuary. Admission and parking were free. Light refreshment was served. Giving and receiving care are universal values, but nurturing caregivers sometimes is overlooked. Remembering that Christ calls on us to care for each other, including those who render care, Caring for Caregivers embraced our congregation's Action Plan theme to Encourage Education and our Education Team's goal to Learn About Faith in Action and Spiritual Health. For more information, browse the Gilchrist website. Joanne Bedford, Gilchrist Chaplain, and Susie Kelly, Liaison for Gilchrist Community Outreach, focused on the patient's quality of life, support to the caregiving family, and ensures patients and a pain-free and dignified hospice process. With facilities in Towson and Columbia, Gilchrist (443-849-8200) is affiliated with Greater Baltimore Medical Center. |
