Planning is underway for all five of our faith communities (First Christian, St. Andrews Community, Beit Tikvah, The Gathering, and Mt. Olivet Christian) to worship together on Sunday, September 11th, at 10:30 a.m. for a special tenth-anniversary remembrance of the terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. It will be a Christian worship, replacing all the other services on that Sunday, and the members of Beit Tikvah Jewish Congregation will join us as they are able (it is the first day of their Kesher School). Rabbi Liz Bolton will offer the reflection. We will share a pot-luck lunch following the service. Also, there will be a community service at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon (place to be announced) and Women In Black will once again have their Peace Path along Charles Street. Let's plan to participate in this day of reflection and unity, remembering those who died 10 years ago and committing ourselves to the love that overcomes fear and terror. |
